Good idea Rachel - I'm up for it if anyone else is! Do you think we'll need a mediator? I can foresee a clash of personalities already - it's that shift guy with his strong opinions! :)
We should perhaps wait until Springtime? .. .

Do you guys fancing forming the start of a social committee in the village? It could be a user group of the hall and run dances, gigs etc with any profits being ploughed back into bigger and better events? All meetings strictly to be in the pub.
I would like to have more social events to go to that aren't just sitting in the pub - though that's good too with the right company!
If anyone else is interested contact me on rachelboal@f2s.com.. .

Kim,
All good ideas - especially the shop. It'll be quite expensive to get one up and running but it'll be used enough to be even a wee but profitable. What about a the idea (not sure what it's called) of bringing a book to some place and then leave with one that was left by someone else? Again though, we're stuck for a venue. I guess the thrift shop is like this - cheap books and plenty for all tastes!
Shift,
Naked ladies parading through the village? lol I have a few name.. .

I'd like to see a naked lady parade, though I suspect that won't ever happen in the 'musk. In fact I don't think that's ever happened anywhere. If anyone does hear of that kind of thing happening be sure to let me know! lol... .

Q. What would you like to see or see again in the village of Monymusk?
A. The Shop, and a bakery and library, like in the good old days! Slower traffic so I don't nearly get squashed by speeding cars when riding my bike or walking up the main Alford road home (not recommended!), more foot/bike paths would be nice. Trains running again on the old railway line ...
Is that the kind of thing you were after? .. .

The fish analogy is perfect. They aren't quite brave enough to dis the whole spiritual thing are they? I'd like to think that we leave behind a spirit when we die - our ego (our self) is just too strong and powerful!

Well I read Dawkins book, but didn't see the need to put the message on buses. Shot himself in the foot there I think, "probably". That's like fishing for an hour or two and concluding that there's "probably" no fish, honestly if that's all the Atheist movement has then I don't think spirituality is going away any time soon.
I for one have no idea what happens after death, but the new-scientist has a pretty good article on it http://www.newsc.. .
