The Cairts will race for three miles, starting near the summit of Cairn William and finishing in Monymusk Village.
Cairts to have no engines, a minimum of three wheels and working brakes. Three people per team, minimum age 14 years.
1pm Cairts arrive at Monymusk Square for inspection by a Judge. The cairts are taken to the starting post on Cairn William and the race starts at 2:30pm. In 1980 there were hundreds of spectators.
The race is in aid of charity. Half of the money raised to go to the RLNI and two cancer charities, the rest will be distributed amongst Monymusk charities. The last race raised £13,000!
Prizes will be given for;
- First, Second and Third time overall
- Best designed Cairtie
- Best dressed team
- Best named Cairtie
- Most sponsorship raised by any one team
- Most sponsorship raised by a single team member
- Junior & Senior sections.
Post race entertainment for all, including BBQ and raffle.
